Taiwan LED Makers Post Lower Revenues Compared to First Three Quarters of 2017

Three major Tawain-based LED makers, Everlight Electronics, Lextar, and Epistar, all posted on-year drops in September revenues, according to a DigiTimes article.

LED packaging service provider Everlight reported September consolidated revenues of NT$2.043 billion (US$66.7 million), lowering 7.71% compared to the previous month and 13.11% compared to September of 2017.

However, LED chip and epitaxial wafer maker Epistar’s achieved revenues of NT$1.930 billion, growing slightly by 1.36% sequentially but falling 22.05% on year.

Consolidated September revenues for the vertically-integrated LED firm Lextar reached NT$980.4 million, decreasing 9.09% sequentially but just 0.68% on year.

Everlight claimed consolidated revenues of NT$6.284 billion for the third quarter, rising 6.26% sequentially but declining 9.04% on the year, and revenues for the January to September period of NT$18.466 billion for also sank 10.43% on year.

Epistar reported consolidated revenues of NT$5.648 billion for the third quarter, rising 6.66% sequentially but declining 19.98% on year, and those for the January to September reached NT$16.090 billion but fell 17.20% compared to the same period of 2017.

Lextar achieved consolidated revenues of NT$3.007 billion for the third quarter, rose 0.84% sequentially but decreased by 5.05% on year, and for the first nine months of 2018 those of NT$8.637 billion sank 7.54% on year.
