Ushio Introduces Spot Cure LED Light Sources

Ushio launches Midori UV and UVV LED light sources for spot curing.

Ushio America, Inc. of Cypress, California USA, introduced two new UV (365nm) and UVV (405nm) Spot Cure LED light sources to expand the company’s Midori product line. The ULB-50sc series LED light sources are fiber-optic light delivered illuminators for spot curing of adhesives or coating applications in which benchtop space is a premium.

The company says that this compact solid-state light source is energy efficient and easy to use. Ushio says that the device is compatible with and surpasses the performance of most existing lamp-based system processes for cost-effective photo-curing. The UV and UVV LED light sources feature inherent narrow spectral bandwidth and are combined with true-output irradiance. According to Ushio, the Spot Cure LED light sources also enable flexible programming.

These optimized, high-output LED light sources have an integrated microprocessor and an LCD user control panel with pre-aligned coupling optics light delivery that is compatible with standard liquid light guides. The light sources offer constant UV power Output Control Mode. Additionally, the Midori UV and UVV LED light sources provide output power calibration for external radiometers. The devices output intensity is adjustable 0-100 percent, and the light sources are controllable via a foot pedal switch or manually through an LCD touchscreen panel.
